The mobile trading app experience was built around a simple premise: markets move around the clock, and a trader’s ability to check a position or adjust a limit should not depend on being near a computer. Every screen, from strategy selection to the risk gate, has been laid out so that the controls a trader reaches for most often are within thumb’s reach, not buried in nested menus.
This mobile-first approach also shapes how updates are rolled out. Because the interface lives in the browser rather than in a compiled app, improvements to layout, charting or alerts reach every user at the same time, on iOS and Android alike, without waiting on a separate release cycle for each operating system. The result is a workspace that behaves consistently whether it is opened on a laptop at home or on a phone between meetings.

From a phone, a trader can do everything the desktop view allows: open an account, review the strategy library, deploy or pause a strategy, adjust risk limits, and check open positions against current market prices. The reporting views are built to be read on a small screen without endless scrolling: fills, open orders, and risk-limit status are presented in compact panels rather than dense tables. Switching between long and short strategies, or between spot and futures views, takes the same number of taps regardless of device. A trader who sets up a strategy on a laptop in the morning can check on it from a phone at lunch and make an adjustment without needing to remember a different set of steps for the smaller screen.
Alerts and notifications
A workspace that runs unattended still needs to keep the trader informed, so McCortex OI sends push alerts for the events that matter: a strategy fills an order, a position moves in or out of an expected range, or a configured risk limit is approached or breached. These notifications are opt-in and configurable per strategy, so a trader who wants only breach alerts is not interrupted by every routine fill, while a trader who wants a fuller picture can turn on more granular updates. Alerts are written to be actionable rather than decorative: each one states what happened and, where relevant, what limit or condition triggered it, so the trader can decide quickly whether a manual check is needed.
Because notifications are tied to server-side monitoring rather than to an app running in the background, they continue to arrive even if the browser tab has been closed, as long as notification permissions have been granted on the device. This keeps the trader informed without requiring the phone to stay open on the workspace at all times, which matters for anyone managing several strategies across spot and futures markets at once.
Why no download is required
McCortex OI does not ask a trader to install anything. The interface is browser-based: opening the site on a phone or tablet loads the same secure workspace that runs on desktop, with no separate build to download, update or manage. This removes a category of friction that traditional apps introduce, such as waiting for an update to finish before checking a position, or losing access to a feature because an operating system version is out of date. There is no separate listing to search for and no version number to track, because there is nothing installed locally beyond what the browser itself handles for any secure site.
This also means device storage is never a constraint. A phone that is nearly out of space, or a tablet shared between several people, can still run the full workspace without a dedicated install taking up room. Access is tied to the trader’s account credentials rather than to a specific device, so signing in from a new phone or a borrowed laptop restores the same strategies, positions and settings without any transfer step.
What happens when connectivity drops
Because strategy execution happens on McCortex OI’s own servers rather than on the trader’s device, a dropped connection, a dead battery or a subway tunnel with no signal does not pause an active strategy. Risk limits that were set before the connection dropped remain in force, and the execution engine keeps applying them exactly as configured. What changes during an outage is visibility, not protection: the trader simply cannot see updates or receive alerts until the device reconnects, at which point the interface refreshes to reflect everything that happened in the interim, including any fills or limit-driven adjustments.
This separation between the control panel and the execution engine is deliberate. It means a trader travelling, changing networks or briefly offline is not exposed to a strategy running unmonitored on their own hardware, because the hardware was never doing the work.
